Sports Report

With the long holiday weekend I got to participate in some non-bedroom sports at Ralf's Dark Paradise. ( http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ralf%27s%20Dark%20Paradise/229/234/22 ). While I hesitate to call Soap Ball the latest or greatest craze in SL™, I do think that this is the kind of sport that should be encouraged. Teams can be as many as one each or as many will fit on the playing field. Uniforms are discouraged though. The game itself is played like soccar (football for most of the world, but hey, I'm an obnoxious American) in there are two goals on opposite sides of the playing field. You must manipulate the soap ball into the goal, while crabwalking around the field. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, remember that people get kinda soapy in this event, and aren't wearing much, if anything at all. Physical contact is inevitable while you're fighting to control that soap. It's entirely possible to get confused and find yourself out of position, then before you kn

I was really very impressed with the architechture of this sim. Gay France ( http://slurl.com/secondlife/Gay%20France/182/122/22   ) is really a wonderous village filled with the old world charm you'd expect of the old world. But the marvels go beyond the ordinary. Where else could you find a Star Wars battle scene taking place above your cafe as you sip (what I hope was just ) a very good merlot? Of course there's much to see and do here in Gay France, not all of it is exclusively gay oriented. You could grab a Nut Buddy Bar from the ice cream vendor and stroll through the meadow, visit the local cathedral or spend a quiet evening in the bath house. All in all, Gay France is a beautiful sim that must be seen to be appreciated. It's open to everyone, not just homosexual males, very laid back, and they even seem to have the lag problem worked out. Polynesia

This is one of the cooler places I've found in SL. The sim Sao Tiago is dedicated to the music of the South Pacific. There are the usual rentals and shops, and a bar. And every Tuesday 2:00 PM SLT - they appear to have an event to listen to old Polynesian stories and legends by the fire. I haven't made it, cause it's a really bad time for me, but one day maybe.

I've mentioned before that one of the reasons I still play Second Life™ is RLV, the Restrained Love (formerly Life) Viewer. It's not for everyone, it's not even for everyone in BDSM. Now that I think about it, it's not only for those in BDSM either, but I digress. RLV really just another toy, or in this case, and enhancement of the SL toy. While it's true, it restricts your movements, how you can interact with others and even what you're able to wear, I like to think of it as bringing just a little more surrealism to the virtual world. So as I sit in a dungeon, naked and waiting for a timer to finish and the locks open again, I view this as landing on "go to jail," hitting the loose a turn spot, or sitting in the penalty box. Sure it's like playing with one hand tied behind my back but it makes it more fun.
